Tennis is far less homogenized and is an absolute battlefield with the nature of some of the long 5 set matches where one needs to be focused for 4 plus hours.
Apples and oranges.
I will say though that boxing came out as the toughest sport after a bunch of ESPN sports experts judged a variety of sports in many categories.
I am a tennis player. But squash requires so much more reaction and creativity. Tennis is more one dimensional than squash. My old tennis coach said that the average tennis point lasts 4 shots – with the serve and return of serve being two of the points.
Squash was rated by Forbes as the most strenuous sport. I am a tennis player and there is no comparison in fitness requirements. In my hometown of Louisville, KY USA, squash is only played by the wealthy preppies. The sport desperately needs to be in the public parks where free access will really grow the game.
move to england we have squash courts gallore mate.that’s why you don’t and won’t see an american in the top 30 ever because they keep the sport too themselves.
to become a top ten world squash player you have to be a champion.they are all champion’s and gods.squash is one on one, like boxing but much more difficult,i know i do both and squash is harder of the two.you have to be a supreme athlete and use your brain and your instinct too.they are all champions.nowdays is much more diificult because the gap is so tight between the top ten players.knan palmer nicol shabana gaultier power they are all champs.
JonathOn’s attitude on court was questionable to say the least, he was a great athlete but he had no respect what so ever towards his oponents or the referee. Peter on the other hand was a brilliant champion, hard working, respectful and above all a squash god.
”the best of all time” is just a matter of personal preference, for some people it will only be Jansher Khan, for others others.
Squash needs to be opened up to the public. In my hometown of Louisville KY USA, the wealthy, preppie crowd like to keep the sport for themselves and are unwilling to open it up to general public. The only way the sport will grow in my town is to build outdoor squash courts in the public parks.

I respectfully disagree. An acute observation of footwork and play will clearly show that Jansher in fact got to the ball just as fast if not faster and -more- efficiently. At his best, Jansher would probably take the match, probably not in straight shots but I can see in 4. Jansher also attacked better in the later half of his career than what I see from Peter. But great player.
hmmm… I thought there were matches between jansher and nicol. I am not sure who won, but I know that they went to 5 games – but jansher was past prime. My bet would be that jansher would beat him, if both at their prime.
well, your ass, how much is it worth? I bet no so much, since you bet it and Yansher is the best withouht any doubt. Look at the statistics, is there more to it? I do not think so …
i bet my ass that if you match jansher in his best time and nicol in his best time, nicol would win 3-0, im not saying that jansher is not the greatest of all time, just that it was other speed, other conditions…
I’ve met Peter and you’re right, he is such a great role model, very professional attitude towards his fans and just a really nice guy to have linked with the game.
agree…peter nicol is just the best of his time…the greatest in squash…only jansher was better (in his own time)…but those two are the best players of all time…
It’s a little bit of both, and they r slightly in better quality as the master videos I have on my PC but ‘slightly’ is the key word here, plus these aren’t financed digital productions so I do the best I can with the product I find
Just putting out there : I like your videos, but is it possible to have any better quality ? I don’t know whether it is because of the videos you get these clips from or because of any sort of limit imposed by youtube on the file size. I’m just wondering, because if it were possible, those would be really really awesome.

one of the best defenders the game has ever seen, and his attacking is equally incredible.
