why does everybody need to say that tennis isn’t a sport? maybe not how YOU play it… they’re both great sport. can’t everybody be friends? we are all one, after all 😉

there´s not such a reaction as the power´s ones

i know you have a right to be defensive when people say bad things about squash, but to say tennis isn’t a sport is downright ridiculous.

it seems like the operative question is: could JP have hit the ball (no dispute on that), but from watching this video a number of times, it appears JP could not have hit the ball from the position he was in when he called the let. ask yourself, do you think that JP was really trying to play the ball or trying to get the call? take in mind he two players and the previous requests for lets during the same match, cheers.

Power slipped at 1:20. That’s why he couldn’t make the play.

Sport of men?? Really, tennis is a sport of men?? its a bunch of faggets taking 10 min breaks in between sets and getting their bitch to towel them down after every rally! Before u insult a sport, take a look at ur own u dumbfuck.

tell him that this is sparta maybe he would get afraid
SquashReferee on August 1st, 2012 at 7:10 pm Said:
Excellent call. Power would have been able to retrieve the ball but that is only one consideration. Observe how he intentionally places his racket behind Nicol and does not make every effort to get to the ball. There is interference in that Nicol has not cleared the ball perfectly, however the deciding factor is Power’s lack of effort.

don’t waste you time trying to explain. People who never played squash never be able to understand
CloudftJoosh on August 1st, 2012 at 7:35 pm Said:
tennis where the players can take a break whenever they want? Pro squash games can go up to two hours, with the only breaks are 5 seconds between rallies, or 90 seconds between games. If anything tennis is the pussy sport, players taking many breaks walking off almost when they please for a drink and to get their energy back. Thats a pussy sport
lacheyrulez on August 1st, 2012 at 7:47 pm Said:
lol clearly this isnt the sport of men, the sport of pussys go play real sport like tennis

LET. JP could reach the ball but must give Nicol room to clear. Instead he prevents Nicol’s exit by trapping him with his arm.
Rule 12.10: No stroke awarded to a player who causes interference with an excessive swing.
Guideline 6: Opponent should allow player unobstructed direct access to ball, provided the player has not moved in so quickly as to block the opponent’s exit. In that case Referee shall rule LET.
YoussefGhitany on August 1st, 2012 at 8:53 pm Said:
I agree with the referee , too . He was moving the wrong way when he had to suddenly change his direction and that’s when he slipped , so he -without complete effort- raptured his arm around Nicol and asked for a let while he could’ve moved normally towards the ball and hit it . NO LET !

this entire match had really ballsy reffing

squash is weird.
TheSeb1208 on August 1st, 2012 at 8:57 pm Said:
Without a doubt a let. He could´ve easily reached the ball. No way a stroke, because he was actually going the wrong way/slipped first and wasn´t there on time to volley it properly, but it´s neither a No Let decision. Martin Heath calls it ridiculous decision and I think he´s right.
But as always: different ref, different decision!
Jonathan Power´s attitude isn´t childish. I rather think, his behaviour on court helped Squash, because he made it more interesting and entertaining.

ttttupim on August 1st, 2012 at 9:46 pm Said:
definately a LET!!!
he slipped alright, but could with no doubt get the ball
paulfield1 on August 1st, 2012 at 9:58 pm Said:
Unquestionably a stroke – Nicol’s shot was far too loose – an absurd decision
utrabbit007 on August 1st, 2012 at 10:06 pm Said:
that is without a doubt a let, he slips but the ball is loose and goes straight past nicol which he could easily have hit. Possibly even a stroke
jdcontrol on August 1st, 2012 at 10:39 pm Said:
What a wanker, Power is a great player but hes got the attitude of a child.
